TOTS ‘N’ TODDLERS COFFEE MORNING: All proceeds will help us to continue to sponsor Heidy in Colombia (through Compassion). We need to raise £300 per year to continue to sponsor Heidy and this provides her with Bible teaching, medical check-ups, nutritious meals, recreational activities and education. Her parents are also supported through a community centre. We would ask for the following support – for people to come along to the coffee morning (bring your friends and family), for anyone who could bake a cake or buns, and for the supply of good quality used toys or books for a bring and buy table. Speak to Fiona Boyle (07974 180321) or Barbara in the office for any further details.

UPDATE FROM CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
A congregational meeting was held on Wednesday 11th April; 49 voting members were in attendance. A presentation was provided from Session and Committee on the subject of the future of Strean Manse; and questions were answered on a wide range of related topics. The meeting was asked to vote on two resolutions as follows:
Resolution 1 – To authorise Session and Congregational committee to proceed to sell the present manse and purchase a new manse, in line with PCI Manse guidance (2016) and subject to Presbytery, Church Architecture and Manses Panel and the Linkage Commission.
Resolution 2 – To authorise Session and Congregational committee to appoint a small sub-group to take all steps necessary in the above process.
All voting members present were in favour of these two resolutions. To be clear – the outcome was unanimous – there were no votes against the resolutions or any abstentions.
The sub-group will comprise Brian Nixon (Convenor), Stephen Boyle, Roberta Wilson (all on behalf of Session) and Sam Young, Nola McCluggage and Janet Johnston (all on behalf of congregational committee). This matter will now be taken to Presbytery, and we will keep the congregation updated on progress and developments. The manse family, in line with church guidance, is not part of the decision making process; please continue to be sensitive about this matter. Our current manse has served the congregation and manse families for 40 plus years and we give thanks to God for that provision. Please now pray for the process as it moves forward and for all those involved. We are thankful to Rev. John Carlisle (Interim Moderator) for his guidance in this process to date.
CRAFT CLASS would like to thank you, as £300 has been raised from the sale of Easter chicks and baskets. Thank you to the ladies who made them and to everyone who supported in buying them.
Thank you to those who have returned their SMARTIES tubes of 20p coins. So far £193.60 has been lodged into Mission Funds.
The ANTIQUES & COLLECTABLES FAIR will be held in the Adgey Hall on May Day, 7th from 10am-4pm. We will need volunteers to do the ‘door’ and volunteers to help exhibitors in the morning and in the afternoon getting their displays in and out of the hall. If anyone can help – please speak to Janet Johnston after the service or on 07803355044. A copy of the poster is available on the Strean website on the latest news page – please share this via Facebook!
