LIFE EXPLORED on Wednesday evenings and Friday lunchtimes will continue on consecutive weeks. However, the Wednesday morning group will be meeting on alternative weeks, on the following dates: 26th Sept., 10th & 24th Oct., 7th & 21st Nov. and 5th Dec.

YOUTH CLUB – started back on Saturday 8th September. Youth Club is for anyone in P6 – Year 10 and runs on alternate Saturday evenings. We would love to have some more leaders who could help out on a regular basis on our rota, or even on an occasional Saturday night – it’s all good fun and nobody will be expected to run or organise anything! It’s just to be a helping hand and have fun with the kids as we need at least 7/8 leaders each night to allow it to happen. If you are able to help or would like to find out more please speak to Stephen Wilson or Michael Brown.

This is in preparation for the election of new elders. Notice is hereby given that a draft list of qualified voters of the congregation of Strean is being prepared by the Kirk Session. The list shall be exhibited on 23rd and 30th September in the Church Vestibule and Welcome Area, the Session being satisfied that this will provide reasonable notice to all voters of the contents of the list.

Voting members are communicants on the roll of the congregation who are listed as having contributed to stipend or freewill offering of the congregation in the last financial year. In addition, a wife shall qualify on a husband’s contribution, and vice versa, where both are communicants. Where the contributor is not a communicant the spouse shall be qualified providing he or she is a communicant. If neither husband nor wife is a communicant, their contribution shall qualify the eldest child, residing in the family, who is on the communicant’s roll. Those who have been added to the communicant’s roll of the congregation since the close of the last financial year shall be qualified as voters, upon confirmation by the treasurer that they have contributed during the current year.

Should any member of the congregation who claims to be a voting member desire to make an objection regarding any name on the list, or omitted from the list, he shall lodge his objections, with his reasons, in writing to Rev. Jeff McWatters, by Sunday 30th September, and the Kirk Session shall give its decision thereon or refer the matter for decision by Presbytery. Should any member objecting be dissatisfied with the decision of the Kirk Session with respect to his own or another’s qualifications he shall have the right of appeal to Presbytery within 7 days. The same right belongs in such cases to any member of Kirk Session, including any assessors that may have been appointed by Presbytery.
