STREAN BADMINTON CLUB
Badminton Club meets on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm.
The badminton season at Strean commenced activities at the beginning of September and continues until the end of March. However, some of the more enthusiastic club members will play badminton throughout the summer months at other venues. Each Thursday evening club members meet between 7.30 p.m. and 10.30p.m. to play and enjoy games of badminton in the Adgey Hall in Strean. Our membership consists of a range of ages and abilities.
This season, as in the past, our team will play approximately 10 matches in the Ulster Badminton League, all of which take place at the Ulster Racquets Club in Lisburn where all Ulster League matches are played. This provides an opportunity to play competitive badminton against teams mainly from counties Down and Antrim.
In December we had our Christmas dinner which was attended by both current and some past members and a good night was had by all and in June we normally have our annual barbeque. These events add to our badminton season’s activities. New members are always welcome and particularly so from the congregation. Finally, the Strean badminton club aims to continue to provide an opportunity to play and enjoy the game of badminton in a welcoming environment and provide a weekly fellowship opportunity.
