MEN’S FELLOWSHIP – Our speaker is Mr Billy McCullough who will be talking about Presbyterianism in Colonial America, focusing in particular on Rev. Francis Makemie, an Ulster-Scots man, who established the Presbyterian Church in North America in the second half of the 17th Century.

CHARITY COFFEE MORNING – proceeds in aid of Thrive NI. Ards Voice Community Choir will be singing at 11am.

The Saturday morning Informal Prayer Time will resume on Saturday 9th March.

 

B.B. WEEK – our B.B. Company is holding its B.B. Week collection from Sunday 24th Feb. to Sunday 3rd March. Boys have been issued with official collector cards, and we trust that members of Strean will encourage the boys through prayer and financial support during B.B. Week. As with previous years, Session continues to show its support for B.B. by permitting a retiring collection on Sunday 3rd March. Please look out for the BB collectors in uniform on Sunday 3rd. THANK YOU – Lewis Getty would like to thank everyone who supported the coffee morning on 16th February in aid of the Habitat for Humanity Youth Project. A fantastic £845 was raised thanks to your generous support.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

E100 – as a church we have a challenge for the next 100 days to read the Bible together. The daily readings are available either on the YOUversion Bible App or on the church website or as a hard copy card which is available in the Welcome Area.

FRESH LIGHT is the counselling ministry service provided by PCI. Please see the poster and letter displayed in the Church Entrance, or take a leaflet from the Welcome Area.

 

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

The next PW MEETING will be on Thursday 7th March at 7.45pm. Hope House provides complimentary, self catering, accommodation by the sea, for rest & recuperation for adults who have had a recent diagnosis of Cancer. Please come along to hear the inspirational story of how this wonderful, amazing place came about. This is not a sad story but a story of HOPE.   

The A.G.M. will be on Wednesday 13th March at 7.45pm. There will be a short committee meeting before the A.G.M., at 7pm, and light refreshments will be served following the A.G.M.

“ANSWER TO BIG QUESTIONS” SERIES in Regent Methodist Church Hall. Week 3 on Wednesday 20th February at 7.30pm with Mr. Jim Crooks (Crescent Church): “Surely the Bible is just a human thing?”

CHRISTIAN AID ANNUAL INTER-CHURCH TABLE QUIZ will take place on Friday 22nd February in St Mark’s Parish Centre at 7.30pm. Groups of 4 – 6 people are invited to attend. Application Forms are available from Helen Schofield on 91818285 / 07550012681 if you are interested. Applications for teams are to be returned by Wednesday 13th February at the latest.

ANTIQUES & COLLECTIBLES FAIR at Ballygilbert Presbyterian Church on Saturday 23rd February at 10am-4pm.  See poster in church entrance for details.

THRIVE IRELAND “From Africa to Ireland” in Dunsilly Hotel Antrim from 9.30am – 4.30pm on Thursday 28th Feb. Pre-registration is required, although there is no cost. Further details available on the Welcome Area noticeboard. Diane Holt and one of the speakers will be at the Coffee Morning on 2nd March, which is being hosted by Thrive NI.

SECOND CHANCES CONFERENCE on Saturday 9th March:

Christ Church Presbyterian, Dundonald: women’s conference with Angela Perrit and Sally Clarkson and other speakers along with a kids’ programme at Dundonald Methodist church. The event starts at 9.30am (registration) and finishes at 3.15pm. Cost £10 includes lunch (register at Eventbrite.com

SCRIPTURE UNION NI CAMPS – details of SUNI residential camps for this summer are displayed on the Welcome Area noticeboard. Additional details are also in a booklet on the table beside the library.

PCI SUMMER TEAMS – PCI has eleven amazing teams going to work alongside local congregations across Ireland this summer to help them reach out to their local communities and share the Good News of Jesus.
