Sunday Services

Every Sunday
10:20 - 10:45 - Morning Prayer
11:00 - 12:00 - Sunday Service

11:00 - 12:00 - Discovery Sunday school during the service from September to May, except 3rd Sunday (or sometimes 4th in a 5 Sunday month) each month, which is an all-age service. Supervised creche is available every Sunday during the morning service. Children's Church is available during June, July & August.

Informal Evening Service in the Welcome Area, usually on the last Sunday of every month (September - May). There will be no evening service in March as there are combined Ards Presbyterian Churches evening services from Tuesday 31st March to Friday 3rd April at 7.30pm in Greenwell Street Presbyterian Church for Holy Week.

Prayer Times at Strean

Sunday morning 10:20am in the Prayer Room, for everyone.
First Sunday of Every month is Elder's Prayer Time at 7pm

Prayer is an important part of our Wednesday evening and Friday lunchtime small groups - see below for details.

Youth Fellowship

Sunday evenings from 7 – 8.30pm on 1st & 3rd Sundays each month

(September to Easter)

The next YF will be on Sunday 19th April, when "Made for More" will be taking the evening

Strean YF is for the young people (Year 8 and up) – and we aim to provide with them – a place where they can come to learn more about and worship God. We do this through Bible study and discussion, learning new songs and praise, and learning about the church and the world around us.

Craft Class

Monday morning from 10am to 12.30pm

(September to May)

The Craft Class covers many skills:- knitting, sewing, crochet, patchwork, embroidery and banner-making for the church. The class has increased in numbers from eight members at the beginning to over thirty. We welcome everyone who wants to share their skills and God’s fellowship.

Girls Brigade

Monday evenings from September to Easter

GB is a dynamic, relevant, Christ-centred organisation effectively reaching out to all girls to value, nurture and equip them for life. We provide a varied programme for girls aged 3 to 18 plus.

Tots & Toddlers

Tuesday morning from 10.15am to 11.45am during term -time September to May

Easter break is on 31st March and 7th April

We welcome babies, pre pre-school toddlers, parents and carers who have registered for this 2024-2025 season. Please note that for Health and Safety reasons, we are currently unable to welcome any new families.
Our activities include, toys, craft, making new friends and learning songs and enjoying tea/coffee or juice and a snack.

Boys Brigade

Tuesday evenings from September to Easter

6.30 – 7.30pm Anchor Boys

7.15 – 8.30pm Junior Section

7.30 – 9.15pm Company & Senior Sections

Our BB prides itself on running high quality, age appropriate programmes for our four age groupings – Anchor Boys (P1 – P4), Junior Section (P5 – P7), Company Section (Year 8 – Year 11), and Senior Section (Year 12 +).

Football & Fellowship

Every Wednesday night at 8pm (Sept - April)

Easter break on Wednesday 1st April

Membership is made up of committed Church members and those with no connections to any Church. Every night starts and finishes with prayer. We also have an epilogue or a time of reflection. We have found by sharing our thoughts and life stories with each other, close friendships are formed and we can share God’s welcome by caring and helping in a practical way.

Men's Fellowship

Third Thursday of each month at 7.45pm September - Easter

Men's Fellowship Thursday evening meetings will resume in September.

We also meet at Clandeboye Golf Club at 10.30am on the 4th Thursday of the month for a fry or tea & coffee. The next men's breakfast is on Thursday 23rd April 2026.

Strean Men's Group meet for friendship and fellowship. Some evenings a speaker will be invited to talk on an interesting subject, on others we will meet for a relaxed evening to chat.

Small Group Bible Studies

Wednesday 7:30pm to 8:30pm

Friday 12:15pm to 1:45pm

(September to May/ June)

The Wednesday small group meets every Wednesday evening for Bible Study and prayer. The Friday lunchtime small group meets on the 2nd & 4th Friday each month.

We are currently studying the book of Zephaniah. New members are very welcome to either group.

We meet to discuss different books of the Bible and pray together. You're welcome to join us in a smaller forum for worship. Our current Bible study is on the book of Ruth. All new members are very welcome.

Ladies' Ministries

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

First Thursday of each month at 7.30pm September - Easter

PW Outing on Saturday 25th April : Our outing this year will be to Gracehill Moravian Church, with lunch at The Caervery in The Tullyglass Hotel. For details and to reserve a place, please speak to a member of the PW committee or contact the church office by Sunday 29th March.

PW is for women of all ages, whether they are church members or not. We are a friendly welcoming bunch and have a varied and interesting programme of events to suit all tastes.

All ladies are also welcome to meet for coffee at Hillmount, Newtownards on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 10.30am. The next ladies' coffee morning will be on Wednesday 15th April 2026

Badminton

Every Thursday night at 7.30 pm (Sept - Easter)

Badminton will resume in September 2026

Our badminton session runs from the beginning of September to Easter. There is a range of abilities amongst our current membership so don't think that you have to be a competitive player to enjoy playing badminton at Strean.
We welcome every 18+ to join us.

Bowling club

Thursday morning - 10:00am to 12:30pm

Easter break on Thursday 2nd April

Join us for a relaxing game of bowls on Thursday mornings.

Thursday morning bowls continues all year round, with a break for light refreshments and a chat.

Everyone is welcome, even if you have never played indoor bowls before.

Youth Club

Saturday evening 18:45 - 20:15pm

September - Easter

Youth Club will resume in September 2026

Youth Club is for anyone in P7 - Year 11 and runs on alternate Saturday evenings.
